Janie last worked with David Soul in Alan Ayckbourn's Comic Potential at The Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. In the role of Jacie Tripplethree, an actor robot, or 'actoid', she won The Olivier Award, The Evening Standard Award and The Critics' Circle Award, all in the category of Best Actress. She subsequently reprised the role at The Manhattan Theatre Club in New York, and received four further honours, including Best Actress in the OB Awards and The Theatre World Awards. Her performance as Carrie Pipperidge in Nick Hytner's production of Carousel at The Royal National Theatre was also honoured with an Olivier Award, this time in the category of Best Supporting Artist in a Musical. Other work at The Royal National Theatre includes: Helen of Troy in The Women Of Troy, and Julie in Johnny on a Spot for Sir Richard Eyre. For The RSC, Janie appeared in The Shakespeare Revue at The Barbican and in The West End. Other notable West End appearances include: Edythe Herbert in My One and Only (Piccadilly Theatre), Lydochka in David Pountney's Paradise Moscow for Opera North (Sadler's Wells), Divas At The Donmar and Enter The Guardsman (Donmar Warehouse), Bombalurina in Cats for Trevor Nunn (New London Theatre),
Ellie May Chipley in Showboat (London Palladium) and Emma in Betrayal for Sir Peter Hall (Duchess Theatre).
