Out of the Silent Movie era and the heady heights of 1920s Hollywood, the classic musical Mack and Mabel tells the heart-wrenching love story of two of its greatest legends; director Mack Sennett “The King of Comedy” and his star, comedienne Mabel Normand.

When ‘hash-slinger’ Mabel Normand turns up on the set of film-maker Mack Sennett, creator of the Keystone Cops, she catches his eye and soon captures his heart. Before long, Mabel is starring in Sennett’s two-reelers and together they bring magic to the silver screen. Yet ambition, dalliance and the impending threat of changing times make for a tempestuous relationship. Romance turns to jealousy while stardom foreshadows scandal and heartbreak. But despite the odds, this inimitable pair can never escape their undeniable love for each other.

Mack and Mabel reunites the same creative team whose uniquely imaginative production of Sweeney Todd beguiled West End audiences and critics and has become a huge Broadway triumph.
